What politicians are saying about the incidents of vandalism and arson across the country, including Dhanmondi No. 32
The vandalism of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s residence at Dhanmondi 32, houses of Awami League members, murals of Sheikh Mujib, and plaques with the names of Mujib’s family members in various parts of the country has led to mixed reactions among political parties.
Almost all parties have blamed Awami League and Sheikh Hasina for instigating such incidents. Some have also blamed the government’s failure to control the situation and the inaction of law enforcement agencies.
BNP, one of the country’s political parties, says that the anger accumulated among the people over the deaths of so many people and 15 years of torture. This incident has once again expressed the anger accumulated among the people.
On the other hand, Jamaat-e-Islami believes that political tensions should be resolved through politics. The party believes that a deterioration in law and order is not desirable under any circumstances.
Jatiyo Nagorik Committee is blaming the Awami League for this incident. They say that such incidents will be repeated if the responsibility for the genocide is not accepted. The platform is scheduled to announce a new political party soon.
However, the National Unity and the Civil Rights Council have questioned the government’s inaction due to the chaos. The two parties believe that the government has no chance of avoiding responsibility in this incident.
